R&R Frequently Asked Questions

D’Weekendr’s River Rest & Refresh

What is River Rest & Refresh?

River Rest & Refresh is a D’Weekendr leisure experience designed to give you a peaceful place to pause, recharge, and enjoy nature.

Think of it as your third space away from crowds, busy life and day to day stress—somewhere you can slow down, enjoy good food, spend time by the river, and take care of yourself without having to plan the whole day.

Who is this event for?

River Rest & Refresh is designed for adults who want a slower, more restorative experience while on their trip or locals seeking a getaway from day to day activities to truly enjoy and appreciate where they live.

For our special group activities like The Carnival Reset you can come alone, with a friend, or as part of a small group. You don’t have to be a Carnival-goer to enjoy it—you simply need a reason to take a day to rest.

Do I have to participate in activities?

No.

This is intentionally a low-pressure experience. You are welcome to enjoy the river, eat, chat, rest, read, nap, or simply sit quietly in nature.

There is no expectation that you participate in every available activity.

Where is the event?

The event takes place at a private riverside location in Tobago.

The exact location and arrival instructions will be shared with confirmed guests before the event, the discretion is intended for safety and privacy purposes as this is a vulnerable space during a very busy season.

How do I get there?

You can make your own way to the location, or select the round-trip Scarborough transportation option when booking.

If you select transportation, your pickup and return arrangements will be communicated to you before the event.

Is transportation included in the booking price?

Transportation is available as an optional add-on and is not automatically included in every booking.

Please select the transportation option on the booking form if you would like to use the D’Weekendr round-trip Scarborough transfer.

What should I bring?

We recommend bringing:

  • Comfortable clothing (that you can move freely in for the yoga session that you don’t mind getting wet)
  • Swimwear
  • A towel
  • Comfortable footwear suitable for water activities terrain
  • Watershoes if you plan on being in the river
  • Sunscreen
  • Insect repellent
  • Any personal medications you may need
  • A change of clothes
  • A waterproof bag for wet belongings

And, of course, bring your resting energy. 🌿

Can I go into the river?

Yes, guests may enjoy the river where conditions permit.

However, river conditions can change due to rainfall and other environmental factors. Follow all instructions provided by the D’Weekendr team and do not enter the water if conditions are considered unsafe.

Do I have to swim?

Absolutely not.

You can enjoy the riverside setting without entering the water.

What food is included?

Your booking includes the meal option selected on your registration form.

Available meal options include fish and vegan selections. There will also be a breakfast and general snack/grazing table spread for guests to use freely throughout the day.

Please indicate allergies or dietary requirements on your booking form so that we can plan accordingly.

Can I bring my own food or drinks?

Please contact D’Weekendr in advance if you have a specific dietary need or would like to discuss bringing additional food.

Outside alcohol is not permitted unless expressly approved by D’Weekendr.

Are there massage or wellness services?

Yes, massages are included in the intinerary for the day. These are intended to complement the day’s restorative atmosphere.

Is this a party or Carnival fete?

No.

River Rest & Refresh is deliberately different from a traditional Carnival event.

There may be conversation, music, food and good company, but the focus is rest, nature and restoration—not partying.

Can I come alone?

Yes!

Solo guests are welcome.

D’Weekendr was designed on it’s inception to make leisure feel comfortable and accessible for people who don’t necessarily have someone to travel or attend with.

Can I book for a group?

Yes.

If you’re coming with friends or a small group, each guest should complete the required booking information.

For larger groups, contact D’Weekendr before booking so we can discuss arrangements as a private event on a separate day of your choice can be arranged for you.

Is the event accessible?

Because the experience takes place in a natural riverside environment, terrain may include uneven surfaces, rocks, steps, mud or other outdoor conditions.

If you have an accessibility requirement, please contact D’Weekendr before booking so we can determine whether the location and planned arrangements are suitable for your needs.

Is the event family-friendly?

This experience is designed primarily as an adult leisure experience.

Please contact D’Weekendr before booking if you would like to attend with a minor.

What happens after I submit the booking form?

Submitting the form does not by itself guarantee your space.

Your booking will be reviewed and payment arrangements will be provided where applicable.

Your space is considered confirmed once full payment has been received.

You will then receive your booking confirmation and pre-event information.

How will I receive the event details?

Confirmed guests will receive the information they need before the event, including the meeting/arrival information and any relevant transportation details via broadcasted messages in a private WhatsApp group chat.

The exact private location will be shared with confirmed guests rather than publicly displayed.

Can I cancel my booking?

Cancellation and refund eligibility depends on the timing and circumstances of the cancellation.

Please review the cancellation terms provided during booking or contact D’Weekendr as soon as possible if your plans change.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Because this is an outdoor riverside experience, weather and river conditions may affect the event.

D’Weekendr will monitor conditions and communicate any necessary changes to confirmed guests.

Guest safety takes priority over continuing the experience as originally planned.

What if the event has to be cancelled or postponed?

If D’Weekendr has to cancel or significantly change the experience because of unsafe weather, river conditions, venue issues, or another circumstance outside our control, confirmed guests will be contacted directly with the available options.

Can I transfer my booking to someone else?

Please contact D’Weekendr before transferring your booking.

Guest substitutions may be possible depending on timing and event capacity, but the replacement guest may need to provide the required registration information especially in the case of dietary restrictions and allergies.

What should I do if I have an allergy, medical requirement, or other important consideration?

Please disclose relevant dietary, accessibility, or safety requirements during booking and contact D’Weekendr before the event if there is anything the team needs to know to help you participate safely.

Guests are responsible for bringing any personal medication or necessary personal supplies.

Is photography allowed?

Guests are welcome to capture memories of their experience, but please respect the privacy of other guests.

Do not photograph, record, or post another guest without their permission.

D’Weekendr may also capture photographs or video for promotional purposes. Guests will be informed of applicable media arrangements.

Can I bring my camera?

Yes! 📸

Just remember that this is a shared leisure environment. Please be mindful of other guests’ privacy and avoid turning someone’s quiet reset into an unexpected photoshoot.

What is the vibe?

Low-stimulus. Nature-forward. Comfortable. Unhurried.

You don’t need to dress up, perform, network, or make the most of every minute.

You can simply be there.

I have another question. Who can I contact?
