Interpreter Code of Conduct

Purpose

This Code of Conduct establishes the professional standards expected of all interpreters and language support professionals participating in the D’Weekendr Leisure Hub network.

Professional Conduct

Interpreters shall:

Conduct themselves professionally at all times
Treat all clients with dignity and respect
Remain punctual and prepared
Dress appropriately for the assignment
Communicate clearly and professionally

Confidentiality

Interpreters must maintain strict confidentiality regarding:

Client information
Personal conversations
Travel itineraries
Business discussions
Medical information disclosed during assignments
Any sensitive information encountered while providing services

Confidential information shall not be shared unless required by law or necessary to prevent immediate harm.

Accuracy and Impartiality

Interpreters shall:

Interpret messages accurately and completely
Avoid adding, omitting, or altering information
Remain impartial
Avoid expressing personal opinions
Refrain from influencing client decisions

Professional Boundaries

Interpreters shall not:

Provide legal advice
Provide medical advice
Act as a travel agent unless separately contracted
Enter financial arrangements with clients outside approved bookings
Solicit clients directly for future work originating through D’Weekendr without authorization

Safety and Respect

Interpreters shall:

Promote respectful communication
Avoid discriminatory behavior
Respect cultural differences
Report safety concerns where appropriate

Harassment, intimidation, discrimination, exploitation, or inappropriate conduct toward clients, partners, or fellow professionals will not be tolerated.

Conflicts of Interest

Interpreters must disclose any actual or perceived conflict of interest that could compromise professional impartiality or service quality.

Compliance

Failure to comply with this Code of Conduct may result in suspension or removal from the D’Weekendr Leisure Hub network and termination of future collaboration opportunities.
